Kayden, Rylee Rae, and More!

I am sure that most of you got word via Facebook that our little “broccoli” arrived in late May. “Broccoli” now named Rylee Rae is healthy and growing fast! Those of you with kids now how challenging the first few months can be. The sleep deprivation for me has to be the most challenging however, as the weeks go on we are getting more sleep and adjusting quite well. I couldn’t be more proud of Kayden. He loves his little sister so much and is such a big helper (he is the official diaper changing pit crew).

Many people have emailed in asking me how I managed to maintain good eating habits throughout my pregnancy. What saved me during this pregnancy was being prepared. I used my slow cooker multiple times a week throughout my pregnancy so I would have dinner ready for me after work. This also made my snacks and lunches easier as I mostly just ate the leftovers. I did a fare amount of experimenting with my slow cooker and am excited to announce that I will be sharing my recipes in my new book Paleo Slow Cooking, Gluten Free Recipes Made Simple. Paleo Slow Cooking is set to be released on October 1st 2012. As we get settled into our routine I will be blogging more regularly about my pregnancy and of course some food too. :) Please comment on any specific topic you would like me to address. And lastly, I was recently interviewed by the Paleo Lifestyle Magazine you can check it out here!

Congratulations! You have a beautiful family! I can’t wait for your book to come out- I’m so excited for it! Are you and Sarah planning on a new podcast soon?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the shout out! Looking forward to making lots of delicious meals thanks to your new book :)

  3. Your family is beautiful!

I am SO excited about your new book – I pre-ordered it 2 months ago! I have one daughter (pre-Paleo) and am really curious to see how a second pregnancy will compare to my first. How do you combat morning sickness and carb cravings? And decreased desire for protein? Or does a grain-free diet (I’m lacto-paleo) itself help to alleviate those things?

Hi Chrissy! I tried to comment earlier, but it possibly went to spam (somehow some of my comments are going to spam with my other email address). Anywho. Just wanted to say congrats on the baby Broccoli (Rylee is a beautiful name by the way) and I love the podcast. Also, I cannot wait to hear more about your slow cooking book. I love my crockpot, and was hoping to find ways to utilize it with paleo foods. You rock!
